NYC Marathon, November 1st
A team is running in honor of Taylor. It was her dream to run a marathon when she was 18.

When Taylor was nine, her Mom ran a marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to honor a dear friend's five-year remission. At the start line, Taylor made a deal with her. She asked if she could run a marathon when she turned 18. Her Mom told Taylor that by the time she turned 18 she would be too old to run, so maybe she could run the marathon and her Mom could walk. She screamed "Deal!" as the race started.

Well, this year's ING NYC Marathon takes place on November 1, the exact date of Taylor's 18th birthday.

When Taylor lost her battle the cancer had metastasized to her lungs, and she died having difficulty in breathing. According to her Mom "every breath I take and every time I struggle to run the extra mile, it is with tears for my daughter. This November 1, my husband and I and several others are running with Fred's Team in memory of and in honor of Taylor. I am also running to keep the promise I made to her nine years ago. We feel strongly that running with Fred's Team to support pediatric cancer research is something that Taylor would want us to do."
